Week 36 / Little Olive Update

Oops! A little late bringing this post to you – it's been a busy week and Ben's been off to work a bit earlier than usual (and staying a bit later than usual!) working on some cool projects. We managed to squeeze in a snap this morning, though! So here we are at 36 weeks, and as you can see, the magic is wearing off a little bit. Feeling pretty tired these days.

How far along?
36 weeks. Woah!

Symptoms
Alright, let's see... pelvis pain, heartburn, slight swelling of hands and feet (goodbye wedding rings), and that fatigue. Woah nelly, my energy levels have suddenly dropped. I was looking at the clock at 10:30am the other morning and wondering if it was a suitable time for a nap.

Maternity clothes
The usual, although I just purchased some LoopieBoobie singlets. They are basically boob tubes that hook into your nursing bra. So, you can wear any top you like over it, and come breastfeeding time you simply roll your top up, and pull down the part of the LoopieBoobie top with your bra (leaving your torso covered, so you're not exposing anything necessary). The woman I bought them off makes them to order, so it's good supporting a small business too.

Stretch marks
I don't think I really have any.

Sleep
Still waking up at the witching hour, but still no leg cramps – yay! Sleeping really well lately. I haven't slept in the bed in such a long time. I sleep on top of it because it's just easier when I'm huge and have a pillow supporting my legs etc – less to get tangled in. Then I just have a light blanket over the top.

Best moment this week
I've got a new laptop! It's something that Ben and I have been pondering for a long time, but we finally took the plunge and invested in one. My computer has been slowing down (I remember getting it when we first moved in to our flat in Epsom, so it's done a decent dash I guess, 4 and a half years) and now that I've got my own business, it's fantastic being portable. I can take my computer and work down at a cafe, or at the park, or take it with me when I travel... but even more useful, I can sit with it in bed, on the floor, in the kitchen. It's fab! Ben and I have also done a lot more furniture jigging this week, and now baby is all set up to go in our room, cot and all. It's looking pretty cute I must say!

Worst moment this week
Last night I made this fish pie thing, and it was tasty and all, but it didn't turn out the way I wanted and it made me teary (haha!). Apart from that ridiculousness, work has been pretty full on.

Movement
Just the usual, although you can definitely see/feel that baby is getting pretty large in there! I wonder what size it will be on the outside?

Food cravings
No cravings, but I did have an urge to make scones at about 9:30pm the other night. I think it may have been more of a nesting 'I want to bake' thing than a craving thing though.

Anything making you feel sick or queasy?
The rooms that we do the parenting classes in make me feel ill! Perhaps because theres quite a few people and you have to sit still for quite a while. I have three classes this week – our regular childbirth/parenting ones, hypnobirthing, and an extra class I went to about breastfeeding. I love going to the classes, I feel like an expert by now! It's also good to go and meet/chat to people.

Gender
I've been told it's a boy again this week, but who knows?

Belly button in or out?
Kinda both – looks weird!

Happy or moody?
Happy!

Looking forward to...
Mum arriving today! She booked an impromptu whirlwind trip to Sydney so I'm looking forward to hanging out with her, even though work has picked up again this week (why does this always happen!?). But I know she's looking forward to seeing her favourite child. ;) And I get to go through all my baby gear with her, and see if she has any last suggestions.

This week's tune:
Hmmm... throwback! Fur Patrol's Man in a Box. I can't find this album anywhere, I loved it when I was younger.

    1. Look, I know she lies to the rest of you about being her favourites, but I know I'm the true fave. ;)
