Week 28 / Little Olive Update
Third trimester starts here! Aaahhh it really feels like I'm on the home stretch. The last few weeks have flown by, and with our upcoming trip to New Zealand coming up, I know it's going to be nuts when we get home and realise how close we are to D-day. So exciting! Can't wait to be a mama.
This week we got a few more purchases. I met this lovely young woman (and her gorgeous 18 month old son, oh my gosh! He was so smiley when I was holding him, too!) through Gumtree and I've bought quite a few bits and bobs of her, and she threw in a bunch of bonus items too. For a grand total of $335, we acquired a lovely cot (with drawer storage underneath too! This is the model here), 2 fitted cot sheets (one is completely new), 5 face washers unopened, 6 bottles of varying sizes (will just need to buy new teats), an electronic breast pump, bottle steriliser, bottle warmer, and a light up decoration like this one here. Such a bargain! I took a pic of our $15 moses basket from last week, I'll pop a picture in below.
_________
How far along?
28 weeeeeks! Once I hit the 30's it's going to become super real.
Symptoms
Leg cramps, and some waves of nausea... I've heard some women can get nausea in their third trimester similar to what happens in the first – I hope I'm not that person!
Maternity clothes
Singlets, shorts, gym pants and maternity dresses – nothing new.
Stretch marks
None.
Sleep
Holy crap, this week has been the worst for sleep so far. I wake up at every little noise, and then I can't get back to the land of nod. Finally got some great sleeps in toward the end of the week. And guess what – I had a dream I had a baby GIRL! Unlike the baby boy dream I had (where my baby was actually an old homeless man... of course!), this was definitely a baby girl. She had dark eyes and dark hair, and I couldn't stop looking in the mirror as I held her, because she was just so gorgeous. I had held a baby that day, so maybe it transposed over into dream land?
Best moment this week
Getting more baby goodies, and grabbing excellent deals! As per above.
Worst moment this week
Some emo moments this week, I had a day where I just felt like a hippo. But that happens. Also work has picked up again but that's not a bad thing, just a busy thing!
Movement
More squirms than kicks these days. I love feeling the lumps and bumps in my tummy and guessing what they are.
Food cravings
Nope, but I've been seeing a lot of delicious Christmas treat images that make me hungry!
Anything making you feel sick or queasy?
Not anymore.
Gender
No clue, I had a dream this week about a baby girl, but we won't know until they're here.
Belly button in or out?
Still hanging in there.
Happy or moody?
Feeling good!
Looking forward to...
New Zealand trip next weeeeeek! Also my last yoga class of the year is today.
This week's tune:
FBI radio – it's a station here that I'm enjoying, because sometimes you get bored of your own music, you know?
