Sorry for the image – Ben told me to use this out-take ('mama with attitude'). Baby is moving and grooving! The past week as seen bub grow in size and strength, and it's super noticeable now. I can watch my tummy bump around as baby kicks. I can't say how much I love to feel the little one rolling around in there. It's making the pregnancy a lot more real, not just for me but for Ben as well!
Today also marks the tenth anniversary of being a couple for Ben and I. Holy moly! Ten years sounds so long. This morning while eating breakfast, Ben said "Woah Luc, it's our ten year anniversary, and look what we made!". I've loved the past decade with this guy so much, and things just seem to get better and better between us. I really feel like we have a well-balanced partnership; every hurdle has seen us become stronger – will be interesting to see how we navigate the times ahead when bub comes! It will be tough but we are so excited.
_________
How far along?
21 weeks today.
Symptoms
Some slight ligament pain around my tummy, but that's it.
Maternity clothes
Trying to wear flattering pieces from my usual wardrobe – love my maternity jeans still, though I don't know how much longer I'll be wearing them as summer approaches!
Stretch marks
No.
Sleep
I wake up a few times in the night because my tummy feels a bit uncomfortable. Also have to remember to roll on to my side when I wake up on my back. Otherwise, more weird dreams... last night I dreamt that I worked at an advertising agency with the Umbilical Brothers (comedians), and I was trying to convince them to start calligraphy classes... I don't know! Also had another dream that I had a boy baby. But who knows what it is?
Best moment this week
My brother Andy and his wife Caroline came over for a long weekend, which was awesome. We walked from Clovelly to Bondi, stalked the shops, and Caro and I went to a baby shower high tea which was so fun. So many goodies! And the best bit was that Caroline won an amazing state-of-the-art car seat! So hilarious and awesome. Andy and Caro both got to feel baby move too; they are the first people to apart from Ben and I!
Worst moment this week
None really, it's been a good one. Trouble sleeping perhaps.
Movement
I can't believe how strong bub is now, I can feel movements several times a day – most times these are detectable from outside of my bump, too. I wonder if it has long legs like dad? It's just the best feeling, I love it so much.
Food cravings
None.
Anything making you feel sick or queasy?
Still not loving the thought of that restaurant Ippudo.
Gender
It's a surprise!
Belly button in or out?
Innie.
Happy or moody?
Happy, especially feeling all of those kicks!
Looking forward to...
Seeing everyone at Christmas time! I know it's not for ages, but I've been doing my Christmas shopping and I just can't wait. It's always such an awesome time of year, and it will be really special this time with a round tummy (hopefully there's still plenty of room for Christmas treats). Also planning a wee baby shower, mainly so I can catch up with some lovely ladies all at once. Will be so great!
This week's tune:
Been jiving to feel-good summery tunes, such as this Lawrence Arabia classic, Apple Pie Bed.
