Week 14 / Little Olive Update

Hello! It's a bit late, but I thought I'd start the good ol' weekly updates. I've opted to keep my tummy covered this time, mainly because there's a good possibility it might disturb some viewers further down the track. Ben's helping with the photos – he always tries to make me laugh for the camera!

_________

How far along?
14 weeks. My tummy is just starting to get a little rounder, too.

Maternity clothes
To be honest, I have just bought some maternity jeans. I live in jeans, but I was finding the waist area on my usual pair so uncomfortable. When sitting (as I do for most of the day while at the computer), they were cutting right in to my tummy. So yes, I now have maternity jeans. Not really needed yet but a lot nicer for sitting in all day (and a better than sitting with my pants unbuttoned)!

Stretch marks
No.

Sleep
My dreams are continuing their bizarre streak. Last night I dreamt that Ben and I adopted a son – only he was a scraggly, older man! He even chewed tobacco! I remember being disappointed for an instant, then thinking 'oh well, this is my son.' I was ok with it after that.

Best moment this week
Work has been going really well, still keeping busy with my own projects. We've had some super warm, sunny weather which makes me appreciate a flexible schedule. It's lovely being able to walk Juno down at the park on a lunch break, and taking my book along too.

Worst moment this week
There haven't been any downers, really... still feeling nauseated most evenings.

Movement
Nothing yet, but I hope I'm one of the lucky ones that feels things early.

Food cravings
Fresh veges, fresh zingy flavours, lemon. Mexican cuisine, basically!

Anything making you feel sick or queasy?
The evening from 6pm onwards. Also, I'm still hating on ice cream – so unusual for me. That's when I believed that pregnancy cravings and aversions were real!

Gender
No idea! Not sure if we'll find out but that scan is weeks away.

Belly button in or out?
Innie.

Happy or moody?
It's been one of the happiest weeks I've had in a while! Just feeling positive, thinking positive.

Looking forward to...
A pregnant looking tummy – right now it looks like I overdid it on the cakes. Especially by night time, my tummy is huge! I've heard it has something to do with your digestive system slowing down, which causes bloating... oh the joys. Also looking forward to my Auckland visit in October.

This week's tune:
Cruisey, hip hoppy, jazz tunes have been flowing while I've worked this week. Here's one of them: Please Set Me At Ease by one of Ben's fave's, Madlib. Sounds like a chilled, summer day! Reminds me of the Ronnie Jordan tunes I used to hear when I was little.
