Oooh, first recorded update! These bump updates will provide a way for me to track my pregnancy, and also allow my family and friends to follow along as they please. I'd definitely rather provide information for people to access at their own will, rather than projecting updates to everyone all at once – so if you stop by, do say hello!
Each update I'll provide answers to a consistent questionnaire as well as a shot of how I'm going. Speaking of which, there's no signs of a bump yet – only signs of 'bloat' (not quite as exciting)! So, apart from a test (or three, because I couldn't believe it first time), what gave it away? Well, I started feeling a little bit nauseous prior to our trip to Tairua with Ben's family. I also noticed I was feeling a little tender with the chest department. So the moment we got home, I took a test. And then another. And then I went to the pharmacy the next day and got another. Double lines every time!
I'll try and do one of these at the start of every week. Ok, le'go!

How far along?
How far along?
6 weeks – got a loooong way to go!
Maternity clothes
Ha, no.
Stretch marks
No, maybe later.
Sleep
Pretty good, but I keep having late nights as there's not enough time in the day. Also, waking up to hit the bathroom is not ideal.
Best moment this week
Discovering there's a bun in the oven! Technically that was at 5 weeks, but still – very recent!
Worst moment this week
Well, Ben departed for his part in the Sydney chapter on Tuesday. We live in each other's pockets, so it's very different without him around. Thanks goodness for the internet! Apart from that, lots of work – working til 10:30pm on Thurs and going into work on Sunday is ok, but it's not ideal. I need quiet time to get my head around things. Oh... and I had a blood test. I hate needles, I had to lie down!
Movement
Nope – it's the size of a blueberry, so not much happening!
Food cravings
None.
Anything making you feel sick or queazy
Had a few waves of nausea when I woke up in the week, but they left once I had breaky. Hopefully that's it (wishful thinking, probably!)
Gender
We're going to keep it a surprise.
Belly button in or out?
Innie.
Happy or moody
Seriously, this has been the most intense week for emotions, and the hormones probably don't help with that. We found out about the baby on the way, Ben left for Sydney, I alerted work about my plans to depart, the stresses of organising our plan to move everything to Sydney, working heaps, thinking about money... seriously tough week. I can't say whether it's been happy or moody. (In a robotic voice) Can not compute.
Looking forward to
Getting my head around things. Ben's first day of work (first days/weeks at work are always hard, but it's exciting too!). Taking time out for myself more next week. :)
This week's tune:
You know when you fall head over heels in love with a song, and you just can't get enough? Have a listen to An Ocean In Between the Waves by The War On Drugs. I love this moody number, and that constant beat is keeping me truckin' on.
